HISTORY
Salazar Slytherin was born in Suffolk, East Anglia on June 29, 903 to Isaura Slytherin. His father is unknown, though he suspects that his mother is keeping that part of his lineage from him. Isaura Slytherin was a very cold, and narcissistic woman, and as a young child, Salazar was very close to his grandfather.

When Salazar was only five years old, his grandfather was murdered in front of him by Viking forces. Salazar was only spared because he kept himself well hidden until they disappeared. The event led to his desire to take part in the defense of the British Isles against the Vikings, and he became determined to destroy as many of them as he could to avenge his grandfather.

At the age of seven, Salazar was sent to a wizarding institution in Kiev that solely taught pureblood Parselmouths. He was one of only four other students. His studies lasted twelve hours a day, everyday, with only one day off a month. The Headmaster believed that Parselmouths were the hierarchy of the wizarding race, and thus must be educated in matters both magical and Muggle to one day take their rightful place as supreme lords. At school, Salazar excelled at languages, Charms, Potions, the Dark Arts, swordplay and martial arts. At the age of fourteen he became very close with a Russian witch, Mischa, whom he went to school with. Mischa was Salazar’s first romantic relationship. When he was finished with his schooling at the age of nineteen, his mother gave him a goblin-made sword with an emerald serpent in the hilt.

A few years later, he met Rowena Ravenclaw in Perth. At first he disliked her, but as they continued to run into each other, she began to grow on him. They started Hogwarts with Godric and Helga a year later. Shortly after, around the time that his mother was expecting Salazar’s half-sister Salvatrix, Rowena told him she was pregnant with his child. It was while he was contemplating whether or not he wanted to keep the child that he realised that he was in love with her.

Being in love with Rowena made him feel weak, so in an attempt to make his feelings disappear, he married a dim-witted but breathtakingly beautiful French witch by the name of Eleanor. The two of them had a son, Tristan, nine months later. Eleanor died when Tristan was four years old.

Despite his best efforts, Salazar remained completely in love with Rowena. The emotion was so strong and so unwanted that he began to hate her, and attempted to stay away from his daughter Helena as much as possible. She was the constant reminder of what he desperately wanted, but could never have.
